We get a lot of emails here at Useless Creations, and altho we will answer them all, it can take some time. So it’s best to check this section first and see if there’s an answer for you here! That way you get help right now!

I’m using Mountain Lion (10.8) and it’s not working! What do I do?
We’ve been testing and so far all the latest versions of the screen savers work on Mountain Lion (as they were updated for Lion), the difference is the new security coding that Apple have introduced.

You can get around it by opening the .dmg file for the screensaver you wish to run, control click on the .saver icon to bring up the menu, and holding the CONTROL key down as you click the Open command. This will let you confirm that it is ok to run the screensaver you want to use.

We are now working on signing all the screen savers with an official certificate from Apple, but this will take time. So far the following screen savers have been updated:

3D Desktop Aquarium Screen Saver
3D Desktop Zombies Screen Saver
Space Wars 3D Screen Saver
3D Desktop Dogs Screen Saver
3D Matrix Code Screen Saver
3D Desktop Cars Screen Saver
3D Desktop Bunny Rabbits Screen Saver
3D Desktop Kitty Cats Screen Saver
DaVinci Encoded Screen Saver
Desktop Puddle Screen Saver
Jigsaw Puzzle 3D Screen Saver
Desktop Butterflies 3D Screen Saver
Desktop Dolphins 3D Screen Saver

Download and install the latest versions and they should run for you. You may need to remove any previous version you have installed.

We’ll update the rest as soon as we can! Check back here for updates! If you have a specific request, email us: feedback@uselesscreations.com

Thanks for your patience, folks!

I’m looking for your iPhone and iPad apps. Where are they?
The Games and Apps for iPhone and iPad have moved to their own site. Visit: www.UselessiPhoneStuff.com
I emailed you 16 times and haven’t received a reply! What’s going on?!
We are currently being flooded with emails. We will try to get back to everyone as soon as possible, and we do so in the order we receive the emails.

Each time you send us an email the system will move you to the back of the queue. So please only email once.

I just made a purchase but haven’t received any email with instructions. What gives?
The instructions are sent automatically the install your purchase is made. Make sure you check your Spam and Junk folders! That’s probably where it is.
If you still have your purchase window open, it should have taken you to a THANK YOU page. You can download your files from here, too.
If you can’t find it. Don’t panic! Email us and we’ll send it to you! Email: feedback@uselesscreations.com
I purchased a while back and have lost my screen saver. What do I do?
You can always download your file again from the link you received when you registered (which is why it says “KEEP THIS SAFE!” all over it).

If you’ve lost your email, email us and we’ll try and find it for you. If you purchased a long time ago (more than 12 months) we may not be able to. But remember how little you paid for this thing in the first place! (less than a cup of coffee!) We’ll try tho! Email: feedback@uselesscreations.com

I purchased a while back and have lost my screen saver. My order number begins with ST, what do I do?
Since you have an ST order number you need to go back to the eSellerate support page to download your file again:

Go to:

http://store.esellerate.net/support

Enter your email address and order number on the right hand side, and then you should be able to redownload from the next screen on the left.

I’m using Lion (10.7) and it’s not working! What do I do?
Everything was updated for Lion (and Snow Leopard) way back when, so they do work. Make sure you remove all previous versions you have installed, and install the correct latest version.

Open the DMG file and look inside. If you have a folder called “Snow Leopard Version”, use this version. If not, use the version in the main section of the DMG.

I’m using Snow Leopard (10.6) and it’s not working! What do I do?
See above for Lion (10.7). The same instructions apply.
I’m using an old PowerPC Mac, and it’s not working! What do I do?
Apple have made it a bit tricky to release one version that works for everyone now. Open up your DMG file, if you find a folder called “OS X 10.5 and lower”, use the version in that folder. If not, use the version in the main folder.

If you have problems, with these or with opening the DMG, don’t panic. Email us and we’ll send you an old version! Email: feedback@uselesscreations.com

I’m using OS X 10.5, 10.4 or lower, and it doesn’t work! What do I do?

I’m using Windows and the screen saver runs slowly and jerks. How do I speed it up?
You need OpenGL 3D acceleration to run the screen savers properly. Unfortunately, the drivers that come with Windows often don’t do the job properly.

Go to the website for the company that makes your video hardware and download and install the latest video driver for your card.

I’m using Windows and the screen saver wont stay installed in my screen saver list. What do I do?
Windows is weird. If it’s a UC3D screen saver, download the UC3D file here:

http://www.uselesscreations.com/zips/UC3D.zip

Unzip the UC3D.scr file to your “system32″ or “syswow64″ folder, then right click on the UC3D.scr file and select “Install”. This should put it in the list properly.

(Mac Users) I’m trying to download more fish (or space ships, currencies, butterflies, cars, etc) and I’m getting an error. What do I do?
I think it means that it can’t save the data file, usually because you do NOT have full read/write access to the folder. So you need to make sure you have access to that folder it’s using, OR you can create a new folder somewhere you know you have full access to, such as under your home directory. Then click that button at the bottom of the settings and tell the screen saver where you new folder is. Then you should be fine.
I’m looking for an old screen saver I used to have, and I can’t find it on the website. Is it still available?
We’re going through a redesign of the website right now, so there’s a chance it still exists on the site somewhere but hasn’t been linked yet. Email us and ask! feedback@uselesscreations.com

If you still have questions, email us! We’ll reply when we can and try to help you. Remember to include as much detail as possible! Email: feedback@uselesscreations.com
